What is "Zero-Dose Children"?
Zero-dose children are those who have never received any routine childhood vaccinations. Most commonly, the term refers to infants under the age of one who have not received even the first dose of the DTP vaccine, which protects against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis.
Vaccines are one of the most powerful and cost-effective tools in public health. Yet, millions of children around the world still live without access to these basic life-saving interventions.
How Many Are There?
As of 2023, there are an estimated 14.5 million zero-dose children globally. These children often live in challenging and underserved environments such as:
Conflict-affected regions
Remote areas with no nearby health services or transportation
Unreached areas such as urban slums and isolated rural communities
Communities facing poverty, discrimination, or marginalization
These children have yet to receive their routine vaccinations.
This puts them at a higher risk of losing their lives to diseases that could have been prevented.

We are a passionate team of healthcare and public health undergraduate and graduate students dedicated to global health.
Starting our work in 2023, we officially established our organization in 2025.
We actively collaborate with international partners on research projects and present at academic conferences to provide evidence that informs policy decisions.
