On Thursday, August 7th, our Executive Director, Aomi Katagiri, took the stage at the Policy Pitch held at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. This event brought together youth advocators in the field of global health, who shared policy proposals based on on-the-ground experiences with Diet members and private sector representatives.
In particular, the session focused on consolidating policy recommendations regarding the importance of addressing the three major infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis) through the Global Fund, along with the growing need to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
From our organization, we presented on the importance of collaboration between Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (Gavi), and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund) to reduce malaria-related deaths by addressing the challenges of climate change and AMR.
Through this participation, we engaged in valuable discussions with many attendees, opening up new possibilities for collaboration and identifying concrete approaches for future policy recommendations.
