Ahead of TICAD9 (8/20-8/22), Sport for Tomorrow × Africa Action Day 2025 took place at JICA Yokohama with the aim of deepening connections between Japan and Africa and raising awareness about the continent through sports and culture.
Our organization collaborated with Akita Satoyama Design LLC to host a booth featuring the sale of Ethiopian coffee beans and a hands-on workshop where participants could design original packages for coffee drip bags.
We also held a quiz based on our field visit to Ghana last year and offered Ghanaian honey for sale with the help of Floret from Ghana.
We were delighted to welcome approximately 270 visitors, with children especially enjoying the quiz and workshop.
Next, we are excited to host a thematic side event at TICAD9 titled: “Youth for Health Equity: Japan–Africa Dialogue”, which will take place on August 21st at PACIFICO Yokohama!
